Happy New Years

I hope you all had a fun new year celebration. Ours started out like a normal day. Lots of playing, chores, and some relaxing until Trevon got home from work.

We met my sister and parents up at City Creek in SLC for dinner. But, we found out really quick that everything closed early.

It was FREEZING! It got down to single digits last night and even with all of our layers on, it was really cold.  We walked around Temple Square for a while and looked at the lights. J's favorite was the temple and the reflection pool. I don't think M was paying a lot of attention.

There's a spot in the north visitor center, on temple square, that they just put in. It's full of missionary badges that people donated. Trevon sent his in when they started the project so we went in to find it. J was pretty excited about seeing it. We were all really glad to get out of the cold for a minute and warm up.

My parents had to leave a little early so my sister and her family went to dinner with us. It was 8:00 before we got our food and everyone was tired and getting a little hangry. But dinner was yummy and gave us what we needed to get back home.

We didn't stay up late. We haven't stayed up late on new years since J was born. It's just not worth being that tired when your kids get up around 6:30 or 7 every morning no matter what time they go to bed.

The night was fun either way though. Not sure about making any real goals or resolutions this year.

Did you stay up late or go to bed early?

Are you making any goals this year?

What did you do to celebrate new years?

  1. This New Year's Eve we came home early and were in bed watching the ball drop. It was nice to have a low key night!
